We Were Once Called Losers Chapter 03

Everyone looked toward the doors in horror.

My eyes lit up instantly. It was the hidden contacts my oldest brother had planted in Seattle—they were here!

I fought desperately against the bodyguards’ grip, screaming at the top of my lungs toward the doors.

“I’m right here!”

I’m here!

Save Julian!

Hurry, save him!”

Arleth’s face shifted, quickly replaced by a look of even deeper contempt.

“Your lover boy actually has some backbone. He really came?”

She smoothed her wrinkled skirt, sneering.

“They are just a bunch of shady street thugs. How dare they crash The Sterling family’s event?

They really have a death wish!”

She picked up the walkie-talkie, her voice dropping to a cold growl.

“All security team!

Riot squad!

Move out, right now!

Beat those thugs outside to a pulp!

Break their legs!”

“Initiate level-one lockdown protocol and lock down all electromagnetic doors!

Don’t let a single fly in today!”

At her command, the metal rolling doors around the banquet hall slammed down, completely cutting off all sound from the outside.

The main entrance was tightly secured with heavy steel chains, and the faint sounds of fighting and breaking doors from outside gradually faded away.

The tiny spark of hope I’d just clung to was ruthlessly shattered by those barriers.

“No!

Open the door!

Open it right now!”

I sprinted toward the doors in a frenzy, pounding desperately on the rolling metal with my fists.

My knuckles were scraped and bleeding profusely, but I felt no pain.

“Julian can’t wait any longer!

Open the door!”

Arleth walked up behind me, grabbed me by the collar, and threw me to the ground.

“Go on,scream!

Keep yelling!”

She looked down at me, savoring my despair. “

See that?

This is your backup?

A bit weak, isn’t it~”

“In Seattle, if I, Arleth, don’t want someone to come in, even god himself has to kneel outside!”

She pointed at Julian, who was already laid half-unconscious on the ground.

“He’s dying, isn’t he?

This is all your fault!

If you had just admitted you were a mistress earlier and kowtowed, he wouldn’t be suffering like this.”

“Now that the gates are sealed tightly. Kneeling won’t change a thing!”

I looked at Julian’s purple lips, and tears streamed down my face.

I had never hated someone so much in my entire life.

Even when I encountered those passive-aggressive socialites in the elite class before, I would just laugh it off.

Because I had my four older brothers and sisters protecting me.

I didn’t need to fight, and I didn’t need to compete.

I just needed to live happily as their spoiled little princess.

But now, my most precious Julian was dying right in front of me.

And there was nothing I could do to save him.

“Arleth…” I stared at her intensely, my voice incredibly hoarse. “

If anything happens to him today, I’ll make the entire Sterling Family go down with him.”

Arleth burst into laughter.

“Oh my, I’m so scared~”

The butler walked in briskly.

Looking somewhat panicked, he lowered his voice and whispered something into Arleth’s ear.

Arleth’s eyes suddenly lit up.

“Justin Shea is here?”

Hearing this name, a glimmer of hope ignited in my heart.

As long as he stepped forward to clarify and prove that I didn’t know him, that the person in the photo wasn’t me.

The misunderstanding would be cleared up!

Julian could go to the hospital!

“Justin!”

Arleth immediately went to greet him, her eyes slightly red.

“Look at this woman, she actually dared to stir up trouble at my banquet!

She even brought an idiot to disgust me!”

Justin’s gaze swept across the whole hall, finally landing on me.

I forced myself to stand up, pointing at the photo on the large screen.

“Justin!

Hurry and tell her that I don’t know you at all!

The person in the photo isn’t me!”
