You Shipped Me Off I Married Your Boss Chapter 09

A strange emptiness settled in Brian’s chest.

Natalie’s crying pulled him back.

Right. Skylar changed first.

The Crawfords spoiled her and she grew up headstrong. Territorial.

Wouldn’t let any woman near him.

Any hint of jealousy and she’d cry, throw a fit.

So he got annoyed. Pulled away.

Ignored her tears and her begging and shipped her off to Chicago alone.

He just wanted her to grow up. Mature.

Once she learned her lesson, he’d bring her home.

After all their years together, he’d never really leave her alone in a strange city.

But clearly, she hadn’t learned a damn thing.

Still pulling stunts. On a day like this.

Still acting out.

She had a gift.

She’d barely arrived and already the Crawford house was in chaos.

Brian pulled Natalie into his arms.

“Go wash your face. Have the makeup artist redo it.”

“I’ll deal with Skylar, then come find you. The ceremony will start on time. I promise.”

Brian wiped her tears, then turned and left.

Natalie stood there, watching his back.

Something uneasy coiled in her stomach.

Madison had asked a good question.

Everyone knew how much he hated Skylar.

And yet, for a few careless words, he’d slapped his own cousin.

Did he really hate her?

Or was Skylar, somewhere deep down, still different to him?
