You Shipped Me Off I Married Your Boss Chapter 24
For a second, Zoey was rattled.
Then she caught herself.
How the tables had turned.
All those years of anger. All those tears shed for Skylar.
And now this. Pure satisfaction.
The great Brian Crawford. Reduced to this.
He loved playing with people’s hearts. Loved watching them fall apart over him.
Looked like he’d have plenty of opportunities to taste that himself.
But Zoey wasn’t giving him the truth.
Skylar said not to tell. So she wouldn’t.
No way was she letting this miserable excuse for a man find out and fly to Chicago to ruin things.
Her best friend’s happiest day. The one day she deserved.
Zoey would die before letting that disaster of a man anywhere near it.
“You heard wrong.”
“I’m going to a wedding in Chicago. With Skylar.”
“But it’s for an old classmate.”
Brian didn’t look convinced.
“I never heard Skylar had any close friends in Chicago.”
Zoey laughed.
“Brian. When have you ever actually paid attention to Skylar? Tried to understand her? Have you ever cared about her feelings? Thought about her at all?”
She shook her head.
“No. You haven’t. You have no idea how amazing she is.”
“You never deserved her. Not for a second. Not after all those years of her loving you.”
Zoey turned and walked away.
Brian watched her go. And something in his chest started to ache.
He didn’t know why.
He only knew he suddenly, desperately needed to see Skylar.
Even just a glimpse.
But the next morning, a large shipment arrived from Chicago.
It had come so fast because Liam had used Campbell Logistics. Fast-tracked an express air freight to LA.
I was in the middle of my final wedding rehearsal, nerves and excitement tangling together.
I knew nothing about it.
