Kill Him Nine Times Chapter 13

Kill Him Nine Times Chapter 13

In the distance, a rescue boat was already heading our way.

It was time to end this.

There was almost no sound coming from the cabin.

I opened the door.

Matteo and his friends were nearly unconscious from dehydration.

Only Genevieve had a little strength left.

Her lips were split. Propped on the floor, she crawled inch by inch to my feet.

“Cosima, Matteo is yours. I won’t fight you for him anymore. Just let me out.”

I ignored her and stepped over her body, dragging Matteo out onto the deck.

Sunlight hit his face.

Still half-conscious, Matteo slowly opened his eyes.

He instinctively raised a hand to shield them from the light, his cracked lips moving faintly.

“Water…”

I bent to his ear and whispered, “I’m sending you somewhere with nothing but water.”

The moment Matteo heard my voice, he snapped fully awake.

As if hit by a terrifying memory, he tried desperately to crawl away.

But he had no strength left.

He couldn’t even push himself up on his arms.

I dragged him toward the edge of the deck.

Over the past few days, I had removed a section of the railing.

The rescue boat in the distance was getting closer.

After losing contact with Matteo for days and the yacht’s satellite signal going dark, the DeLuca family had finally sent people to find him.

When would I get to go home?

I missed my parents. I missed my friends.

I missed my old life.

The rescue boat kept coming, its black speck growing into a visible outline.

I shoved Matteo to the edge.

He turned his head and saw the sea below.

The water was dark.

So deep it looked bottomless.

He wanted to struggle, but he was too weak.

Only a dry rasp escaped his throat.

I gave him a light push.

The sea swallowed him in an instant.

Soon there wasn’t even a ripple left.

Love you, Matteo.

Next time, don’t lie to me.
