Reborn Before My Captain Fiancé’s Beloved Dies In A Plane Crash Chapter 15
“Elara, can we not get divorced?”
“I’m only now beginning to understand how wrong I was.”
“Give me one more chance, okay? Let me make it up to you.”
“I’ll be good to you. I’ll stand by your side again…”
I looked away.
“No.”
Archer swayed as if the ground had given way beneath him.
He walked over, braced a hand on the arm of the sofa, and slowly knelt beside me, his voice shaking.
“I had someone investigate. Chloe transferred schools because of me.”
“The whole bullying story was a lie she fabricated.”
His gaze dropped to my legs beneath the blanket, and his face went as white as paper.
“I’m so sorry, Elara. I misunderstood you. It was all my fault.”
“Chloe is worse than I ever imagined.”
“The child she’s carrying belongs to a boyfriend from her hometown. She and I never—”
“That’s enough.”
I cut him off, unwilling to hear another word.
I set my book down and looked at him coldly.
“So, because Chloe turned out to be a liar, you’ve come back to me.”
“You want my forgiveness, and you want to start over.”
“Because she’s a bad person, you’ve finally noticed that I wasn’t so bad, and now you’re willing to grant me my innocence.”
The absurdity of it was staggering.
“But what if Chloe had been a good person?” I asked him.
“What if all the wrongs were simply your own misjudgments?”
“Would that mean I deserved to be hurt by you like this? What, exactly, did I ever do wrong?”
Archer had no answer.
