Reborn Before My Captain Fiancé’s Beloved Dies In A Plane Crash Chapter 22

Chloe called more than a dozen times.

I gave the number to my lawyer and didn’t pick up again.

That night, she rushed to the Bellini family estate.

But the door that had once been open to her never opened again.

A week later, the court scheduled the divorce confirmation hearing.

Archer appeared under the supervision of two medical staff.

He was gaunt, so thin that the suit he wore hung from his frame.

There were still faint red marks on his wrists from restraints.

After he entered, he looked at me only once before lowering his head.

The judge asked if he understood the document he had signed.

“I do.”

“Has anyone forced you to waive your right to contest?”

“No.”

His voice was rough.

“I’m the one who refused to let her go for too long. It’s time for this to end.”

As the judge turned to the next page, an argument erupted outside the courtroom.

Chloe shoved past the bailiffs and burst in.

Her pregnancy was visible now.

“Archer, you can’t sign this!”

She rushed to his side and grabbed his arm.

“Have you forgotten who did this to you? Elara doesn’t love you.”

“I’m the only one still willing to wait for you!”

Archer reacted as if he’d been touched by something filthy, flinging her arm off.

“Don’t touch me.”

Chloe stared at him.

“You never used to treat me like this.”

“Used to?”

Archer slowly lifted his head, his eyes bloodshot.

“In my last life, I let you die to save Elara. Then I blamed her for your death.”

“I killed her child. I locked her in a basement and broke her bones.”

“Only after she died did I realize the person who should have died from the start was me.”

Chloe’s face grew paler and paler.

She didn’t understand a word of it.

Everyone else in the room heard only the rambling of a madman.

Only I knew which life he was talking about.

Then Archer looked at me.

“In this life, I gave her the beacon again.”

“Elara, I was given another chance, and I still made the same choice.”

He was crying.

But I held his gaze.

“No.”

A pitiful glimmer of hope flickered in Archer’s eyes.
