My Best Friend My Husband And My Divorce Chapter 10

I didn’t wait for Caleb to return. I directly signed an Against Medical Advice discharge form and went home.

I had the moving company pack all my belongings.

Pulling my suitcase behind me, I left the villa we had lived in for three years without looking back.

I moved into the luxury apartment my mother had bought me with trust fund money before she died.

At that time, my mother had fallen ill after my father’s accidental death.

She pressed the property deed into my hands.

“Honey, I know Caleb treats you well now, but who can say what will happen in the future? This is the safety net Mom is leaving you.”

“Never put everything on one man. I’m worried you’ll get hurt.”

I had cried and argued with her then:

“Mother, I trust Caleb. He won’t betray me. He swore he’d be good to me for life.”

Even now, I still believed that Caleb from years ago had truly loved me.

But true feelings change in an instant.

Now his love had long since transferred to someone else.

The apartment had been vacant and needed professional cleaning.

When I finished handling everything, I found my phone screen filled with missed calls and iMessages from Caleb.

Just as I picked up my phone, he called again.

I directly declined the call.

Around dinnertime, I ordered a salad through DoorDash.

After I showered, the delivery had arrived.

When I opened the door, I found Caleb standing in the hallway.
