Bound To The Wrong Mafia Boss Loved By The Right Golden Boy Chapter 07

The Truth

[Dominic’s POV]

The one thing Dominic Graves wanted most in this world was to stand beside Mira Sinclair in the open, as her husband.

Dropping his status to become a soldier in the Sinclair household had always been about one thing: being close to her.

But now…

He stood gripping that Binding Contract, and there was no joy. No relief.

Only a dull, spreading ache he couldn’t name.

He kept thinking about the arms deal. How he’d rushed back only to find Valentina collapsed in a pool of her own blood.

The panic he’d felt. The way his hands shook.

He didn’t understand why.

His phone rang. Master Rinaldi. The pendant was ready.

He moved immediately.

Valentina’s problems could wait. That pendant was the most important thing in his life.

But when he arrived at Rinaldi’s estate, Valentina was already there. Standing beside the old craftsman, smiling, chatting like they were old friends.

“What are you doing here?”

He looked at her with suspicion. “Where’s my pendant?”

Valentina frowned. “What are you talking about? I’m here to pick up my necklace.”

“How can you do this?” He grabbed both her arms and squeezed. “That’s the token Mira gave me. You said you’d set me free. Why are you trying to take what belongs to us?”

“Mr. Graves.” Master Rinaldi hurried over with the restored turquoise pendant, gently separating them. “This one is yours.”

He placed a second, identical turquoise necklace into Valentina’s hands. “Miss Sinclair came to collect the piece I made for her. Keep it safe this time. Don’t lose it again. Consider it a memento of your mother, my old friend.”

Dominic stared at the necklace in Valentina’s hand. His smile turned mocking. “So Miss Sinclair has taken to copying now. But making a replica won’t make the love transfer.”

Valentina gave him a tired look.

She bowed to Master Rinaldi and left without another word.

…

After she was gone, Rinaldi sighed. “Mr. Graves. You’ve misunderstood. This pendant was always made for Miss Sinclair. I don’t know why she gave it to you later, but even if it’s yours now, you shouldn’t speak that way to the person who gifted it.”

“…What did you say?” Dominic went still. “The pendant is hers?”

“Of course. Her mother and I were dear friends for many years.”

“Then…” His breath came short. “What about Mira?”

Rinaldi thought for a moment. “Mira who? Oh, the adopted girl? The Sinclairs hadn’t taken her in yet back then.”

The turquoise pendant slipped from his fingers and hit the floor.

Everything around him dimmed. Rinaldi’s voice became a distant blur.

Valentina was the girl at the gala.

That fleeting glance across the room. His heart stopping in his chest.

She’d hidden her face behind a fan and fled. All he caught was a flash of pink. All he kept was the pendant she dropped.

Later, he’d asked his driver. The answer was simple: “The Sinclair girl.”

He only remembered the name Sinclair.

So when he saw Mira years later abroad, always dressed in pink, he assumed it was her without question.

Even after learning there was an older Sinclair daughter, he never made the connection. Valentina wore black. Red lips. Never pink. Not once.

“But…” His voice was raw. “She doesn’t wear pink.”

“She used to love it as a child. But after the Sinclair family took in that second girl…” Rinaldi sighed. “Adopted daughter, they called her, but that one had a vicious streak. All those times she set up Miss Sinclair, framed her… Especially after her mother passed. No one left to protect her.”

“She hated Mira so much that the moment she saw Mira liked pink, she never touched the color again.”
