Godmother To His Son Then I Took His Kingdom Chapter 07

The moment the call ended, Graham hired a private investigator with a single directive: trace everything Mara had done since she left.

When he got home, Leo was crying uncontrollably, while Evelyn sat chatting with his mother as if nothing had happened.

“I can try to talk Mara around for you—”

“Shut up,” Graham cut in coldly. “Don’t interfere in my business with her again.”

That night, Leo developed a high fever. Graham locked himself in the study and stared at their wedding portrait on the wall, the sickening realization dawning that he had lost control completely.

Early the next morning, a court courier arrived at the door.

Graham signed for the documents and tore them open. Across the top, in stark black print, were the words:

PETITION FOR DIVORCE.

“Irreconcilable differences have arisen within the marriage.”

Below it was Mara’s signature, the strokes firm and unwavering.

His mind went blank.

Just then, his phone vibrated. The private investigator had sent an encrypted email. Attached was Mara’s full hospital admission record from the night of the gala.

In the diagnosis section, two words burned into his eyes.

Spontaneous miscarriage.

Graham suddenly remembered the hospital calls he had silenced that night, one after another.

While she was on an operating table, losing their child, he had been at Evelyn’s side.

The room spun. His stomach lurched. Darkness flooded his vision, and he collapsed onto the cold marble floor.
