Godmother To His Son Then I Took His Kingdom Chapter 10
I threw off the blanket and walked barefoot to the floor-to-ceiling window.
Before dawn, the lights of Santa Fe glimmered in the distance. The glass reflected my calm, composed face.
Graham wasn’t using lawyers and courts because he was worried about me. He just couldn’t stand that I was no longer under his control.
I let out a cold laugh.
“He wants to find me? Then let him find the truth first.”
My lawyer understood immediately. “You want to countersue?”
“Send his legal team a preservation of evidence notice. Immediately.”
I began listing the items one by one.
“I want all birth and medical records related to Evelyn’s son. I want bank records showing every payment Graham made for that child’s insurance, tuition, and living expenses. I want the original, unedited surveillance footage from every camera at the museum on the night of the gala. And I want all call logs, text messages, and cloud data involving Graham, Evelyn, and my parents in the weeks surrounding their car accident.”
There was a brief silence on the other end of the line.
My lawyer asked cautiously, “The moment this list reaches them, Graham will know you already have something. He’ll start investigating these items himself. Are you sure you want to alert him now?”
“I’m sure.”
For years, he had been allowed to evade, to conceal, to bury every crime beneath the weight of the Whitmore family name.
Now, I was going to rip that cover away with my own hands.
“It’s time he started looking for the answers himself.”
My lawyer confirmed, “You want the notice sent today?”
I looked at the first light gathering on the horizon.
“Of course. It’s a legal formality—and it’s the first price he’ll pay for my child and for my parents.”
