Godmother To His Son Then I Took His Kingdom Chapter 16

Eli paid no more attention to Graham’s theatrics. He shielded Mara as he led her to his car. Once the door was closed, he didn’t ask any questions. He just opened a bottle of water and handed it to her.

Mara wrapped her fingers around the cold plastic, her hands still trembling. She took a few sips before the storm in her chest began to settle.

“Thank you, Eli,” she said, looking out the window. “But he won’t stop. This can’t be solved by arguing anymore. I need something more permanent.”

That night, she contacted her legal team. The Boston prosecutor’s office formally took over the evidence and filed charges against Evelyn. At the same time, Mara authorized her lawyers to seek a permanent restraining order against Graham on the grounds of stalking and harassment.

Two days later, the court order was delivered into Graham’s hands.

The terms were explicit: he was forbidden from contacting Mara in any way and was required to remain at least one hundred yards away from her at all times. Any violation would result in immediate arrest.

He stared at Mara’s signature for a long time and finally understood.

She wasn’t trying to force him to repent.

She was legally expelling him from her world.

There was no road back.

Her lawyer called to confirm service had been completed. Mara’s voice was calm. “The law will handle Evelyn. As for Graham—I just want him gone from my life forever.”
