He Accused Me Of Stealing But I Heard The Truth Chapter 26

Derek turned the pages one by one.

“And the allergy incident?”

“We found inventory photos from the office kitchenette that day, and we contacted the ER doctor. The cashew paste under the drink lid was unmixed, and Rachel had residue on her thumb. Erin was wearing gloves when she carried the tray.”

“The doctor’s original notes state that Rachel may have intentionally exposed herself to the allergen. That note was later sealed using an authorization from your office.”

Derek shut his eyes.

“Send her in.”

Rachel entered his office carrying coffee, a calm smile on her face.

“So you’re finally willing to see me? I had all those negative posts about Erin scrubbed from the internet. You don’t need to worry anymore.”

Derek stood and placed the report in front of her.

“Did you do this?”

Her smile vanished.

She skimmed the first page, and tears sprang to her eyes.

“This can all be forged. Erin has a lawyer, and she knows that painter. The bank records, the doctor’s testimony—they could have fabricated all of it.”

“The bank originals, your shell companies, your properties, and the doctor’s original notes.” Derek looked at her. “Are you going to tell me Erin forged all of that, too?”

“I only borrowed some of the money.” Rachel’s voice cracked. “I was keeping it for you. Erin didn’t deserve to take that much.”

“And the illegal clinic?”
