He Called Me A Stone And Chose Her Pearl Chapter 13

I refused, of course.

My father confiscated my phone, cut off my bank cards and car access, and posted household security at the front gate.

I could have forced my way out. I could have shifted and scaled the wall.

But that would have brought the Greenvale Pack patrol, and my father could have spun an even bigger scandal by claiming I was mentally unstable.

So I stayed in my room and waited, hoping Sophie would realize something was wrong.

The few messages she sent were intercepted by my mother, who replied on my phone that I wasn’t feeling well.

I didn’t know if Theo had reached the border, or if he was safe.

More than ten days later, my mother’s tone suddenly changed. She told me to get dressed and come with her.

I thought she was finally letting me see Sophie. Instead, the car pulled up to the Northcrest Pack’s office in the capital.

It wasn’t a party.

It was a forced meeting.

Nolan’s distant relative was neatly dressed and couldn’t seem to open his mouth without lecturing me on how women should submit to their families. He even said that after we were married, he would be choosing my friends and my books for me.
