He Cheated With My Friend My Parents Helped Chapter 26
Security immediately moved to block her path.
Tears spilled down her face.
“I’ve already lost the baby, and I’ve lost Gabe. What more do you want from me?”
An old, familiar ache stirred in my chest, but this time, the wound didn’t break open.
“You didn’t lose your child because of me. And Gabriel leaving you wasn’t my choice, either.”
“I haven’t taken a single thing from you. Everything you two have lost now, you stole from me in the first place.”
She started crying harder.
“Laura was right. You’ve always had everything, so you’ll never understand me.”
I took out my phone and played the recording I had saved.
My mother’s voice, flat and cold, echoed through the lobby.
“She didn’t grow up with me, and she never had the things you did. I can’t abandon her again.”
Then came my own voice, weak and pleading.
“Mom, call 911 for me.”
Sienna’s sobbing stopped cold.
“You used that excuse to justify yourselves for three years.”
“I almost died in that house. You knew I was bleeding. You knew where everyone had gone. And you still think I’m the one who had too much?”
No one around us made a sound.
Sienna looked at all the unfamiliar faces staring at her and finally realized no one was going to rush to her defense.
She lunged for my phone, but a security guard caught her arm.
“Ma’am, you need to leave.”
“Let go of me! This is a family matter!”
The HR manager stepped out of the elevator.
“This is a place of business. Ms. Archer has already made it clear she does not want contact with you.”
As security escorted Sienna toward the doors, she looked back at me, her face contorted with rage.
“If it weren’t for you, Gabe would have married me!”
“No, he wouldn’t have.”
It wasn’t me who answered.
Gabriel was standing just outside the entrance, his face ashen.
