He Locked Me Out Now He’s Begging Me Back Chapter 57

Two hours before the deadline, Tessa came in person.

She stood outside my condo lobby.

Noah was not with her.

The front desk asked if I would allow her upstairs.

“No.”

When I went down, the two of us stood separated by the glass door.

The moment Tessa saw me, she stepped forward.

In the months since I’d last seen her, she had grown thinner. Dark hollows sat beneath her eyes.

“So you’ll finally see me.”

“You have ten minutes.”

She glanced toward the front desk and lowered her voice.

“Can we go upstairs and talk?”

“No.”

The lobby entrance had a key fob system. She had no visitor code, and there was no one to add her without my consent.

Tessa tightened her grip on the phone in her hand.

“Do you really have to guard yourself from me like this?”

“After you sent that post to my company, you should have expected I wouldn’t be opening the door for you again.”

Her face whitened.

Then she pulled a printed statement from her bag.

“The wording your lawyer wrote is too harsh. I can delete everything and stop mentioning you, but I can’t publicly admit I lied on purpose. Noah will see it one day.”

“Then why did you post it with his photo in the first place?”
