He Scorned My Love Now He Watches My Rise Chapter 06

Colton dialed my old number.

A mechanical voice informed him that the number had been deactivated.

He tried again from his assistant’s phone. Same result.

Forty minutes later, the return flight took off.

My name was not on the passenger list.

The room slowly went quiet.

Someone gave a dry laugh.

“Maybe she just couldn’t get a ticket.”

Bianca’s expression stiffened for a second before she recovered.

“You think she can really last three years in Red Sand territory? She’ll be crying and begging to come back in three days, tops.”

Colton suddenly stood up.

“Colt, where are you going?”

“The airport.”

“Are you insane? If you go after her now, you’ll be giving her exactly what she wants.”

Colton turned to look at her.

“What if she never waited for me at all?”

For the first time, his Alpha pressure filled the room. The laughter died instantly.

Bianca paused.

“Then she’s still betting you’ll chase her.”

“So no matter what she does, you think it’s all an act?”

“It is.”

Colton stared at her for a few seconds, then grabbed the contract and walked out.

By the time he reached Gray Harbor International Airport, my first flight had long since landed.

After checking the records, the staff told him, “This passenger made her connection as scheduled. Her next flight departed half an hour ago.”

Colton stood in the terminal and looked up at the departures board.

That plane was carrying me to an even more distant territory.

The airport was full of hundreds of scents, but mine wasn’t among them. Only then did his wolf finally believe that I hadn’t waited for him.

His assistant came hurrying over.

“Mr. Moretti, Siobhan’s director just called me back.”

Colton turned at once.

“Where is she?”

“She’s already on the plane. Once she lands, she’ll report directly to the project team.”

The assistant hesitated.

“The director also said she signed a three-year contract. The Crimson Sand pack has already completed her guest registration. This wasn’t an impulse decision.”

Colton’s lips moved, but no sound came out.

“Did she say anything else?”

The assistant handed him the phone.

The director had sent a screenshot from the project group chat.

Half an hour earlier, I had posted one sentence.

[Connection made. I’ll report directly upon landing. I will not be returning to Gray Harbor.]

Colton stared at those last six words, his fingers slowly tightening around the phone.
