“She gave them up herself. No one forced her. Are you going to blame yourself for that, too?”
“You don’t know why she gave them up?”
“How would I know? It’s not like she told me.”
Colton stared at her.
“On the day of the first assignment, who called and told her I had a stomach bleed?”
Bianca’s expression shifted.
“I did. You really were at the clinic.”
“I was drunk. The healer said I could go home the same day.”
