His Fake Proposal Led Me To My Real Husband Chapter 23

“I know,” he said.

“But the soup’s getting cold.”

I took a sip before scrolling on.

In the month before the fake proposal, they had changed the guest list three times in the group chat.

Each time, Tyler had made a game of guessing whether I’d notice.

Mason had screenshotted my messages checking the list and dropped them into the chat.

He wrote: *She just asked why there are two extra place cards. Don’t worry, I told her the venue messed it up.*

Someone asked: *Isn’t this going too far?*

Mason replied: *If she wants to marry into my family, she should learn to handle a little pressure.*

Under that, Natalie had written: *This isn’t pressure. It’s humiliation.*

No one had responded to her.

Ten minutes later, she wrote again: *At least tell her before the party.*

Tyler replied: *If you’re going soft, then don’t come.*

Natalie didn’t say anything else after that.

The last folder contained the full recording from the day of the party.

Besides the part that had played in the ballroom, it also included what was said in the lounge.

When Tyler threw the favor box, Mason had been laughing.

It was quiet, but unmistakable.
