His Love Is Not Visible Chapter 10
On Tuesday night, Ethan Parker texted me.
[Lulu, are you free Wednesday?]
[I’m coming back to the States.]
The second I saw the message, I sat up straight.
I had known Ethan since elementary school. We’d gone to the same middle and high school, too.
For college, I moved to Salt Lake City while Ethan went to school in Europe, staying there to work after graduation.
Eventually, we lost touch.
[I’m free.]
[What time do you land? I’ll come get you.]
He sent me his flight information.
On Wednesday night, I went to the airport, having already booked a restaurant.
As the passengers streamed through the arrival gates, I recognized Ethan at a glance.
He was tall, all the boyishness of high school gone.
I waved at him.
“Ethan! Over here.”
He smiled and came toward me, opening his arms and pulling me into a hug.
He let go quickly. But during that brief embrace, I looked over his shoulder and locked eyes with a man just ahead of us.
My heart skipped a beat.
Why was Garrett here?
Then I remembered.
He had left on his trip last Saturday and said he would be back on Wednesday night.
