If Your Heart Doesn’t Lean Towards Me I Don’t Want It Chapter 31
In my third month at the new company, I led my first major project presentation.
Right before the meeting, a man from the partner company stared at me for a long moment.
“Coralie Ricci?”
His tone was odd.
“Aren’t you that woman from the video that was all over the internet?”
The conference room fell silent.
Every head turned in my direction.
A few months ago, a moment like this would have frozen me solid.
But this time, I simply opened another file on my laptop.
“Yes, I am.”
He clearly hadn’t expected me to admit it so directly. His expression turned awkward.
“I was just asking.”
“But… doesn’t something like that affect a company’s image?”
I projected the public portion of the court judgment onto the main screen.
“The video was illegally disseminated. The responsible parties have been sentenced.”
“I am the victim in this case, not the perpetrator.”
“If your company believes that being the victim of a crime affects my professional capabilities, we can pause this meeting right now and let our leadership teams decide if this partnership should continue.”
