My Broke Husband Bought His Mistress A Mansion Chapter 07

Ethan went to the hospital first.

Noah had already been discharged.

He spent hours looking for us, but found nothing.

Late that night, his phone rang.

It was a video call from me.

He answered immediately.

Noah appeared on the screen.

“Dad, Mom’s filing for divorce.”

“She wants to know one last time if you’ll sign the papers.”

Ethan’s face changed.

“Noah, where are you?”

“Let me talk to your mom.”

Noah glanced toward me.

“Mom doesn’t want to talk to you.”

“We’ll send you the address tomorrow.”

Then he hung up.

Ethan called again and again.

I switched my phone to Do Not Disturb and set it aside.

Noah sat beside me quietly.

I touched his hair.

“Do you still want to be with Dad?”

He shook his head.

“Dad already has Lily.”

Then he looked at me, his eyes red.

“But you only have me.”

“And what Dad did to you was wrong.”

I pulled him into my arms.

After we came home from the mansion that first day, I’d told Noah the truth.

His father had never been broke.

He had another woman and another daughter.

I asked Noah who he wanted to live with if Ethan and I divorced.

He cried but didn’t answer.

He still loved his father.

But after Lily kicked me, Ethan blamed Noah and left with her.

That night, Noah finally made his choice.

“Mom, if you and Dad split up, I want to stay with you.”

He was only six.

I wished he’d never had to make that choice.

But I’d rather let him know the truth than raise him inside a lie.

The next morning, I sent Ethan the address of the place where we were staying.

When he arrived, he was holding a large bouquet of my favorite roses.

He looked exhausted.

But there was still hope in his eyes.
