My Cruel Husband Let Me Die So I Married His Brother Chapter 05

“Me, obviously.”

Dante, dressed in a white suit that matched my gown, strode over and wrapped an arm around my waist.

His voice was glacial.

“This is my wedding to Daphne. I’m her groom. What are you doing here?”

“And why are you standing in my spot? Have you no shame?”

Griffin’s expression turned ugly.

I tried to pull away, but he gripped my arm, yanking me toward him.

“Dante, fool around any other time you want. But not today. Not here.”

“Daphne can’t possibly be marrying you. She doesn’t even like you.”

I looked at him coldly and wrenched my hand free.

“And why can’t I?”

“I chose your box with my own hand, in front of all our elders. Why can’t I marry Dante?”

Griffin blurted out, “Because—”

He stopped short, as if remembering something.

A second later, he laughed.

“Daphne, this is deliberate, isn’t it? You’re trying to get back at me.”

“You always held a grudge. Even after I gave in, you couldn’t just let it go.”

He looked at me as if he’d finally solved a puzzle.

“So you got Dante to help you put on this show for everyone to see.”

“And then, in front of all of them, you’ll announce that you’re still willing to marry me. Right?”

I couldn’t even be bothered to answer. I was about to have Leo drag him away when Griffin grabbed my wrist again.

Dante’s temper flared.

“Don’t touch my wife, you asshole.”

He seized Griffin by the collar. Griffin ignored him completely, his eyes locked on me as if no one else existed.

“I already agreed to marry you. Tell Dante to back off. You don’t want the elders to see this farce, do you?”

“Stop this act. You might not care about this wedding, but Father still—”

Before he could finish, Dante kicked him, sending him flying.
