My Cruel Husband Let Me Die So I Married His Brother Chapter 06
This was supposed to be a happy day. He hadn’t wanted to start a fight.
“Griffin, who exactly do you think you’re fooling?”
“You want to marry Daphne? That’s impossible.”
“Don’t think I don’t know what you did. You switched the boxes because you didn’t want to marry her, didn’t you?”
At that, my father clutched his chest, his hand trembling with fury.
“Griffin, is that true?”
“Did you really tamper with the boxes?”
Griffin lay in a heap on the floor. His silence was answer enough.
“You were the one I valued most!”
My father brought his cane down hard across Griffin’s back.
“If you didn’t want to marry Daphne, you could have just said so. Why resort to humiliating her like this? My daughter is not some unwanted burden.”
“Leo, take him away.”
Griffin finally spoke.
“Father, how can you go along with Daphne’s games? She and I already went to the courthouse and signed the papers. With everyone here now—”
Dante slapped the marriage certificate against his chest.
“See for yourself.”
“See whose name is written under ‘Spouse.’”
Griffin opened the document.
The moment he saw the name *Dante Romano*, his entire body went rigid.
“Impossible,” he shouted.
“The person who went with Daphne to file the paperwork was me!”
I couldn’t listen to any more of it and had Leo drag him away.
Dante held my hand, the joy on his face impossible to conceal.
“Leo, get him a seat.”
“No matter what, I did call him brother once. A brother ought to watch his little sister get married.”
Griffin was tied up and placed in the front row, where he couldn’t be missed.
The wedding continued.
When Dante and I kissed, Griffin suddenly crushed the champagne flute in his hand.
