My Cruel Husband Let Me Die So I Married His Brother Chapter 11
“Daphne!”
Griffin chased after me and grabbed my wrist.
His eyes were red-rimmed.
“Why?”
“If it was you who saved me, why didn’t you ever say anything?”
“Why would my wife have to say anything?”
Dante’s voice came from the doorway.
The next second, he had kicked Griffin away and pulled me into his arms.
“Are you stupid? You get hurt, and you fall in love with whoever patches you up? You’ll believe anything anyone tells you?”
“What’s next? Someone cooks you a meal and you decide to marry them?”
“Your love is cheap. Don’t stand here disgusting my wife.”
I never expected Griffin to cry.
He had always cared so much about his image.
Now he was on the floor, sobbing so hard he could barely hold himself together.
“If you had told me sooner… if you had just told me, then I never would’ve…”
“Dante’s right.”
I looked down at him.
“Your love is cheap. One lie from a stranger, and you could throw away twelve years.”
“You were so cold that sometimes I thought strangers on the street treated me better than you did.”
Griffin’s voice shook. “No, Daphne. You were always the one I really loved. It was always you. Ava just tricked me.”
“She was crying, saying she didn’t want to live anymore. She said her family was forcing her to marry some violent bastard who beat her. I had a moment of weakness, and that’s why I agreed to help her.”
“I was just too afraid to admit I loved you. I know I was wrong!”
As he spoke, he actually grabbed my ankle.
