My Family Regret When They Lose Me Chapter 13
When I took him downstairs, Julian was already waiting by the car.
He was wearing a dark gray overcoat and holding an insulated bag.
When he saw us coming out hand in hand, he strode over and handed me the bag.
“I brought you something hot to eat on the way.”
He paused, his gaze resting on Leo’s face.
“Beatrice, thank you.”
“You didn’t just help Leo get better. You also made me believe that two people can have a good life together.”
I took the bag and smiled at him.
“Julian, if you’re trying to court someone, you might need to work on your lines.”
The tips of his ears turned red. His hand paused as he opened the car door for me, but he didn’t answer.
Once I got into the car, I found myself thinking about all the time we’d spent together lately.
He wasn’t a man of many words, but he always anticipated what I needed.
When I worked late, there was always a cup of coffee on my desk at just the right temperature.
On rainy days, there was always a new umbrella in his car.
He never pressed me about my past, and he rarely talked about his own.
