My Fiancé Postponed Our Wedding So I Married The Don He Feared Chapter 04
Damian’s face drained of all color.
He stared at Gabriel, eyes churning with shock, jealousy, and undisguised panic.
In the entire underworld, there wasn’t a soul who didn’t know Gabriel DeLuca.
Damian was the Don of the Moretti family, but the DeLuca family that Gabriel controlled was far more powerful. Gabriel held the docks, the casinos, the shipping lines, and the financial channels. Half the city’s lifelines ran through his hands.
No matter how unwilling Damian was, he had to admit he couldn’t afford to cross this particular Don.
My parents, once they recovered from the shock, couldn’t hide their delight.
Gabriel ignored everyone else’s reactions and carried me into the registration office.
He asked quietly, “Did you bring your documents?”
I gave him a light smack on the chest.
“Obviously. What would I be doing here without them?”
Gabriel laughed.
“Same bad temper you had as a kid.”
Then he leaned in and murmured, “But I like it.”
Damian finally panicked.
He rushed in front of us, his voice shaking.
“Olivia! Don’t be impulsive! We have five years together. You can’t just throw that away.”
“Just because of one thing Bianca said, you’re going to register with another man? How could you do this to me after five years?”
I didn’t even look at him. I just held Gabriel tighter.
“Gabriel, don’t let some stranger bother us. Let’s go register.”
A hint of warmth softened Gabriel’s eyes.
“Alright.”
He carried me, step by step, toward the registration hall.
Behind us, Bianca’s hysterical cries rang out.
“Damian! That’s Gabriel DeLuca! You have to stop them! They can’t register! Olivia can’t marry him!”
The next second, Damian actually dropped to his knees.
He begged at my retreating back, tears streaming down his face, confessing every regret.
“Olivia! I was wrong! I’ll listen to you! We’ll register right now! No more changing the date! I don’t care what Bianca says!”
“Please come back. Please?”
