My Fiancé Swapped Places With His Twin At The Altar Chapter 19

My Fiancé Swapped Places With His Twin At The Altar Chapter 19

Three months later, Alessio and I returned to the United States.

We had only come for an art exhibition.

I never expected that when we walked out of the gallery, we would run into my parents and my brother at the entrance.

They looked far more worn than I remembered.

There was more white at my father’s temples.

The hollows under my mother’s eyes were deep.

My brother had lost a lot of weight, and his suit no longer fit him properly.

The moment my mother saw me, she froze.

Then her eyes reddened.

“Bianca. So you do remember how to come home.”

There was no warmth in her voice, only bitterness.

I stopped walking.

Alessio stood beside me without a word, simply taking my hand.

My father saw the gesture, and his expression darkened.

“Are you satisfied now?”

I asked him, “Satisfied with what?”

My mother looked like she could no longer contain herself. Her voice turned shrill.

“After what happened to your sister, don’t you feel even a little bit responsible?”

I stared at her.

After a long silence, my brother said quietly, “Something happened to Ashley.”

It turned out that after the meeting that day, Matteo really had gone back to review the wedding security footage.

The footage was clear.

Before the dancing began, one of Ashley’s bridesmaids had deliberately shoved me toward Matteo.

The camera outside the dressing room also caught Ashley giving orders to a bodyguard to lock the door, then later bringing people back to force it open.

The things I had never been able to explain finally had an answer.

But the truth had come too late.

When Matteo threw the footage down in front of Ashley, I heard she just kept crying.

She said she had only been afraid.

Afraid I would steal Matteo back.

She said she had waited all those years and had finally gotten her wedding.

She had only wanted to hold on to her own happiness.

This time, Matteo hadn’t forgiven her.

It rained all night that night.

Ashley knelt in the rain until morning.
