My Fiancé Swapped Places With His Twin At The Altar Chapter 24

“I waited five years.”

“I stayed with you through your hardest time. I stood by your side in front of everyone. You said you would give me a home.”

“But that day, you pushed me toward your brother and let the world laugh at me.”

“Matteo, what you destroyed wasn’t just a wedding.”

“You destroyed the last bit of trust I had in you.”

His fingers tightened, crushing the paper cup.

“I know.”

His voice was hoarse.

“I found out later. All of it.”

“I checked the footage and found out Ashley pushed you. I found out she set up the dressing room incident.”

“I also found out my mother humiliated you, that you fell into the glass, that your hands were bleeding.”

“At the time, I wanted to help you.”

He lifted a hand to cover his eyes, and his shoulders trembled.

“But I was afraid.”

“I was afraid that if I helped you, everyone would know I still cared about you.”

“I was afraid Ashley would cry. And I was afraid to admit that the whole ridiculous thing had been wrong from the very beginning.”

He lowered his hand, his eyes full of misery.

“Bianca, it’s not that I didn’t love you.”

“I was just too stupid. And too selfish.”

The words came too late.

By the time he said them, they no longer mattered.
