Reborn Before My Captain Fiancé’s Beloved Dies In A Plane Crash Chapter 03
At the last second, the copilot tried to take off his own life vest and give it to me.
I stopped him.
I looked up at Archer.
One second before the plane slammed into the sea, I mouthed the words.
I don’t want you. And I don’t want this child.
…
Then, a crushing force.
Everything went black.
The next thing I knew, I was in the ocean.
The impact had nearly shattered every bone in my body.
My abdomen had collapsed inward at a grotesque angle.
My eardrums felt like they’d been torn, leaving nothing but a sharp, high-pitched ring.
The world was muted.
Warm blood ran from my scalp, down my face, and into the sea.
The deep blue water around me bloomed red.
I floated alone, half-conscious, my vision a blur of scattered light.
Through it, I could just make out chunks of wreckage littering the surface.
A rescue helicopter was already hovering above.
A rope ladder dropped.
Archer was climbing up with Chloe in his arms.
She was almost completely unhurt.
The copilot, Leo, stopped him at the top.
Blood streamed from a gash on Leo’s temple, his face contorted with fury.
I strained to make out their words.
Leo was shouting.
“Are you insane? Your wife and child are still in the water, and you save *her* first?”
We weren’t close, but he was still fighting for me.
Thank God.
This time, he lived.
Archer’s reaction was just as fierce.
“Chloe sprained her ankle. Do you have any idea what that means for a professional dancer?”
“As for why I didn’t save my wife and child first, that’s my business. It has nothing to do with you.”
He shot Leo a cold look.
“Or do you have some other kind of interest in my wife? Is that why you’re so protective?”
