Reborn Before My Captain Fiancé’s Beloved Dies In A Plane Crash Chapter 07

When I opened my eyes again, I was staring at the cold white ceiling of a hospital.

I was in the ICU, an oxygen mask over my face. Even breathing was a struggle.

The nurse looked relieved to see me awake.

“You have ten broken ribs, severe ruptures in both eardrums, a fractured skull, and a punctured lung,” she said quickly.

“The fact that you woke up at all is a miracle.”

My mind was still caught in my last life, and the memory of the pain alone made me tremble.

From the day I was admitted until I was discharged two weeks later, Archer never once came to see me.

Mr. Bellini called him repeatedly.

Archer treated every call as if it were a performance orchestrated by my parents and me.

His voice over the phone was glacial.

“Elara, scheme all you want, but now you’re dragging my parents into it? I’m embarrassed for you.”

He said he had more important things to do.

He had to be with Chloe, attending public events as the Bellini heir to build momentum for her official stage debut.

The day I was discharged, I was in a wheelchair.

The doctor said my lower leg had been shattered.

I would have a limp for the rest of my life.

Dancing was impossible.

Mrs. Bellini fainted.

Mr. Bellini caught her, his own face grim.

I, on the other hand, felt very little.

“It’s okay,” I said softly. “I’m still alive.”

As long as I was alive, it was already better than my last life.

For the child who was never born, I wanted to hold a small memorial.

That day, I sent Archer a text.

*Today is the baby’s memorial. Come see her one last time. The doctor said she was already fully formed—a little girl.”

“While you’re here, you can sign the divorce papers.*

Though Archer and I never had a wedding, the Bellinis had insisted we get married as soon as they learned I was pregnant.

Many of our old high school classmates came to the memorial.

Their expressions were somber as they came over to offer their condolences.

That’s when Archer walked in.
