Reborn Before My Captain Fiancé’s Beloved Dies In A Plane Crash Chapter 24

After the hearing, Archer stopped me.

“Can you give me ten minutes?”

The medical staff stood a short distance away.

My lawyer hadn’t left either.

I stopped my wheelchair.

“Say it here.”

Archer took a tiny shard of crystal from his pocket.

So the pieces he sent weren’t all of it.

He held the shard in his palm, his hand trembling.

“I remembered the last time you were pregnant.”

“Enough,” I cut in.

But he kept going, his face a mask of guilt, his voice low and strained as if confession itself were a form of penance.

“You had a high fever and begged me to take you to the hospital.”

“I locked the door and told you Chloe was colder than you were when she died in the sea.”

“The next day, when I opened the door, the baby was gone.”

My stomach clenched.

My hand moved instinctively to the scar on my abdomen.

My lawyer stepped forward, shielding me.

Archer fell silent.

He crouched down and buried his face in his hands.

“I’m sorry.”

“I’m not trying to force your forgiveness. It’s just… every time I close my eyes, I see you lying in that basement.”

“I watched you die twice.”

I looked at him coldly.

“I only died once.”

“In this life, I survived.”

Slowly, he raised his face.

“What about our daughter, then?”

“She didn’t get a second chance.”

Archer’s whole body jolted.

And in that moment, I finally understood.

His memories of the last life weren’t fate’s compensation to me.

They were just his punishment, delivered late.
