Reborn Before My Captain Fiancé’s Beloved Dies In A Plane Crash Chapter 30

After Chloe was sentenced, Archer’s lawyer contacted me once.

“Mr. Bellini wants to know the outcome.”

“It’s a matter of public record.”

“He also wants to know if you attended the trial in person.”

I was holding the barre I used for rehab, slowly lifting my injured leg.

“No.”

There was a brief silence on the other end.

“He’s been much more cooperative with his treatment lately.”

“The doctors say he can now distinguish between what happened in this life and what is only a memory.”

“That’s good,” I said evenly.

“But you don’t need to tell me these things anymore.”

After I hung up, I finished my last set of exercises.

My reflection in the mirror was drenched in sweat.

My calf was still unsteady. Every step still hurt.

But I no longer needed a wheelchair.

My physical therapist steadied my arm.

“One more time?”

“Okay.”

The music started again.

I rose onto my toes and completed a small, simple turn.

It wasn’t beautiful.

I even stumbled on the landing.

But I stayed on my feet.

My therapist’s eyes turned red with emotion.

I looked at myself in the mirror and, slowly, smiled.

I once thought dance was the one thing I could never lose.

Then Archer had used Chloe’s talent to humiliate me, and I truly believed that if I could never dance again, my life would be ruined.

I knew better now.

That wasn’t true.

I could walk. I could breathe. I could decide who I saw and where I went.

Those things were mine.
