They Called My Daughter A Bastard Until The Lycan Queen Called Me Mom Chapter 01

The Wrong Bride

The daughter I raised for eighteen years turns out to be the long-lost daughter of Blackwood Pack’s Alpha.

Half a year ago, Gavin and Helena Blackwood come to my home and ask to take Sera back.

They swear they will make up for every year they missed.

Sera believes them.

She has always known I am not her birth mother, and I can see how badly she wants to know the family she came from.

So I let her go.

Before she leaves, I give her one hundred and twenty-eight chests of gold, jewelry, property deeds, and other valuables.

I tell her clearly, “These are yours. No matter where you go, no one gets to touch them without your permission.”

She hugs me and promises she will write.

For the first few months, she does.

Then the letters stop.

I send message after message through the Pack network, but no answer comes back.

By the time I reach Royal City, I am half out of my mind with worry.

Blackwood Pack is holding a Mating Ceremony.

The entire street outside the Pack House is packed with guests.

One hundred and twenty-eight chests stretch from the front gate almost to the corner.

People keep praising Blackwood Pack for how generous they are with their daughter’s wedding gifts.

I recognize every single chest.

They are Sera’s.

They did not even bother changing the locks.

For the first time in days, I breathe a little easier.

So that is why she has not written back to me.

The girl is getting mated and forgot to tell me.

I almost laugh out.

Then the bride walks out.

And I stop.

I have never seen her before.

A young she-wolf in a white ceremonial gown stands between a richly dressed Alpha and Luna.

The Alpha’s scent is strong enough that no one can mistake his rank.

This must be Gavin Blackwood.

And the woman beside him must be Helena, Sera’s birth mother.

I walk up to them.

“Isn’t Sera the one getting married today?”

They both stare at me.

“Sera?” Helena frowns. “Who is that?”

Gavin’s expression hardens.

“This is my daughter’s Mating Ceremony. Who are you, and why are you causing trouble in my Pack?”

The bride tugs lightly on Helena’s sleeve.

“Mom, Sera is my sister’s name. Did you forget?”

Helena pauses.

Then the warmth on her face disappears.

She looks me up and down.

“Oh. So you’re here for that little bastard.”

My face goes cold.

Helena keeps going.

“She wasn’t raised in this Pack, and it shows. Jealous. Cruel. Always making trouble for Lily.”

She pulls the bride closer.

“And now she sends someone to ruin Lily’s Mating Ceremony too?”

Bastard?

I slap her.

Hard.

The crack is loud enough to silence the entire front courtyard.

Helena stumbles, one hand flying to her cheek.

Several Blackwood wolves growl.

I do not even look at them.

“Rosalie.”

My shadow guard captain steps forward.

“Yes, ma’am.”

“Seal the Pack House.”

“Not one wolf leaves.”

Rosalie nods.

My private shadow guards move in at once.

The Blackwood guards try to resist, but it ends almost before it begins.

Within seconds, they are pinned to the ground.

Rosalie draws a blade and presses it against Gavin’s throat.

“You insulted Miss Sera,” she says pleasantly. “That put my lady in a very bad mood.”

The blade breaks skin.

“Tell us where she is.”

Gavin bares his teeth.

“That damn curse should never have been brought back here!”

My hands curl into fists.

He continues.

“She bullied Lily from the day she returned. And now, because of her, my whole Pack is being humiliated.”

Lily’s eyes fill with tears.

“If you’re here for my sister, then why are you hurting Father?”

Her voice shakes.

“I know Sera hates me because she thinks I took her place. But this is still her family. How can she shame the whole Pack like this?”

I almost laugh.

Six months ago, the Blackwoods stood in front of me and said the exact opposite.

They told Sera blood mattered.

They told her Blackwood would always be her home.

They promised they would treasure the daughter they had lost.

That was why I let her go.

Now they speak about her like she is dirt under their boots.

Helena wraps an arm around Lily.

“Sera was never fit to be a Blackwood.”

Her eyes burn with disgust.

“If I had a choice, I’d rather Lily were my real daughter.”

That finally does make me laugh.

Coldly.

I point toward the one hundred and twenty-eight chests outside.

“Then why are you using Sera’s property for Lily’s Mating Ceremony?”
