You Told Me To Walk So I Walked Right Out Of Your Lives Chapter 13
The next day, my parents brought Sofia home.
From that day on, it was as if I had never existed in that family.
First, they threw a celebration party for Sofia.
After it ended, Sofia accepted an interview with a local television station.
Reporters crowded the entrance to our house.
When they saw Sofia come out, they all looked confused.
“Excuse me, are you the student who received early admission to Princeton?”
My father immediately smiled. “You must be mistaken. Our daughter was accepted to Penn State.”
The reporter looked down at the information in his hand.
“That can’t be right. We’re here to interview the student who got into Princeton.”
“But the photo doesn’t really look like this young lady.”
Sofia laughed out loud.
“And you call yourselves reporters. Forget Princeton. No one from our school has gotten in for years.”
“Getting into Penn State is already amazing. Don’t you do your research before you show up?”
“So stop asking. The person you’re here to interview is me.”
“Who said that?”
A voice cut through the crowd from behind, carrying a hint of a cold laugh.
Sofia, my parents, and Ronan all stiffened.
I pushed through the reporters and walked in front of the cameras.
“Hello, everyone. My name is Amaris Santoro. I’m honored to have received early admission to Princeton.”
“You can ask me any questions you have.”
