You Told Me To Walk So I Walked Right Out Of Your Lives Chapter 14

“Princeton? You?”

Sofia nearly lost her balance.

I smiled at her.

My mother rushed over and grabbed my collar.

“Impossible! You were clearly—”

“Isabella!”

My father immediately cut her off.

Only then did my mother realize what she was doing.

She gritted her teeth, shoved me away, and cursed under her breath.

“You heartless thing.”

The cameras captured all of it.

The reporters immediately swarmed her.

“Ma’am, isn’t Amaris your daughter? Why would you treat her like that?”

“What did you mean just now? Amaris was clearly what?”

“Clearly sold to human traffickers.”

Detective Miller’s voice rang out from behind the crowd.

Everyone turned at once.

At some point, several police cars had pulled up behind them.

Miller showed her badge and walked up to my parents.

“You are under suspicion of participating in human trafficking. Please come with us to cooperate with the investigation.”

She gave a signal, and several officers stepped forward and handcuffed my parents.

The reporters descended, questions flying.

“What do you mean, human trafficking? What does that have to do with Amaris?”

Miller pushed away the microphones in front of her.

Her gaze moved past me, and she suddenly lunged forward.

“Stop!”
