They Called My Daughter A Bastard Until The Lycan Queen Called Me Mom Chapter 04

She’s Dead

“The Pit?”

A wave of horror moves through the courtyard.

“Have the Blackwoods lost their minds?”

“That’s where Packs send traitors and violent criminals.”

“Once you’re chained down there and dosed with wolfsbane, you can’t even shift.”

“Sending your own daughter into the Pit is no different from sending her to die.”

Kael is on Derek before anyone can react.

He slams him to the ground and drives a fist into his face.

“You sent Sera to the Pit?”

Another punch.

“How fucking dare you!”

Derek tries to fight back, but Kael is the Royal Commander for a reason.

Within seconds, Derek’s face is covered in blood.

Gavin and Helena rush forward.

“Stop!”

They throw themselves between the two males.

Gavin glares at us.

“I’m still the Alpha of Blackwood Pack! You can’t storm into my territory and attack my family because you have Lycan King’s royal authority.”

Helena snarls, “If Sera hadn’t been so vicious, we never would’ve sent her there. She brought this on herself!”

Rosalie kicks Gavin in the chest.

He hits the floor hard, coughing.

I almost laugh from rage.

“Kael.”

He turns to me at once.

“Go to the Pit.”

“Bring Sera back.”

His jaw clenches.

He shoots the Blackwoods one last murderous look before leaving.

Then I face the family again.

“You keep saying Sera is cruel.”

“You keep saying she framed Lily, hurt Lily, and made this Pack miserable.”

“Fine.”

“I’ll find out exactly who is lying.”

“And when I do, every one of you will pay.”

I raised Sera for eighteen years.

I know what kind of girl she is.

Before she left, I told her that if she was unhappy here, she could come home anytime.

No questions asked.

She still had me.

She still had Kael.

She had no reason to cling to a Pack that didn’t want her, much less destroy another female out of jealousy.

Their story makes no sense.

I order Rosalie to bring every servant and guard in the Pack House into the main hall.

Someone here knows what really happened during the last six months.

I intend to hear it.

But half an hour later, Kael comes back.

And the moment I see him, my heart drops.

He is carrying someone wrapped in a white sheet.

His eyes are red.

“Mom.”

His voice breaks.

“Sera’s dead.”

I stare at him.

For a long moment, I don’t understand the words.

Dead?

My Sera?

The entire hall goes silent.

Then Derek lets out a harsh laugh.

“You expect us to believe that?”

His voice is firm.

His hands are shaking.

“Commander Hart, you don’t know Sera like we do. She’s pulled tricks like this before.”

“We sent her to the Pit to teach her a lesson. We never ordered anyone to kill her.”

“There’s no way she’s actually dead.”

Gavin and Helena stare at the body in Kael’s arms.

Neither of them speaks.

Then I look at Lily.

She is hiding behind them.

And the corner of her mouth lifts.

Just for a second.

But I see it.

I cross the room, grab her by the hair, and drag her out.

Before she can scream, I slap her.

Once.

Twice.

“You look pretty happy to hear Sera is dead.”

Lily’s eyes widen.

“No! I—”

I tighten my grip on her hair.

“You think these three idiots can protect you from me?”

I lean closer.

“If I find out you had anything to do with what happened to my daughter…”

My voice turns cold.

“I’ll make you pay for every second she suffered in that Pit.”
