Godmother To His Son Then I Took His Kingdom Chapter 12

The next day, his assistant brought him the restored surveillance footage.

At the museum staircase, the image was enlarged, frame by frame. As the crowd surged toward the exits, Evelyn glanced back at Mara—then deliberately extended her foot.

Mara crashed down the stairs. A dark stain of blood quickly spread across the skirt of her dress.

Graham stared at the screen, his knuckles white.

The next clip was from outside the Whitmore mansion. Evelyn leaned close to Mara’s ear and whispered, “Your parents’ ashes haven’t been there for a long time.”

Mara broke, slapping her across the face.

She hadn’t been irrational. She had been provoked.

Graham’s hand trembled so badly he could barely hold his phone. “Check Mount Auburn Cemetery. Now.”

If the story about the ashes was true, then that night, he had personally thrown the wife who was only trying to defend her parents’ memory out into the rain.

A few hours later, the investigator returned with the full reports.

The first was a DNA test. It showed that Evelyn’s son shared no biological relationship with him.

The second was a data recovery report from an old phone. Eight years ago, Evelyn had used Mara’s phone to imitate her tone and send a desperate plea for help, luring Mara’s parents to a seaside villa during a snowstorm so they would discover the affair.

Attached was a recording from the emergency dispatch.

That night, Mara’s father had suffered a heart attack near the villa. Panicked and disoriented while racing to the hospital, he had crashed into a guardrail. He and his wife were killed instantly.

Staring at the death certificates, Graham finally shattered.

After reading the forged authorization for the disposal of the ashes, he could no longer contain his rage. He kicked open the study door and stormed out of the house.
