He Called Me A Stone And Chose Her Pearl Chapter 24

He Called Me A Stone And Chose Her Pearl Chapter 24

A dead silence fell over the terrace.

My mind went blank.

Then another shocked voice cut through the stillness from the edge of the woods.

“What did you say?”

Nolan stepped out from the path.

He must have been there for the border meeting between the Northcrest Pack and the Royal Guard, and he had clearly overheard Vanessa’s last words.

Vanessa’s face went white as paper.

“No, Nolan, I was just angry. I was talking nonsense.”

Theo said mildly, “So, you were making a false accusation against the Crown?”

“No, I wasn’t…”

Vanessa shook her head frantically, turning to Nolan for help.

“Help me.”

But it was too late.

Nolan was not a fool.

The two identical papers at the memorial, the handwriting in my books, Vanessa’s sudden displays of knowledge, and now her own confession—it all clicked into place.

The person who had traded notes with him had never been Vanessa.

It had been me.

He didn’t even look at her. He just stared at me, his face ashen.

His expression was a storm of shock, regret, and all the words that had come far too late.

Theo stepped forward, blocking his line of sight.

The weight of an Alpha King’s power settled over the terrace.

“Nolan, you’re staring at my future Luna Queen. Do you have a problem with her?”

Under the crushing force of royal authority, Nolan bowed his head.

“No, Your Majesty.”

Theo wasted no more of his time. He took my hand and led me away.
