I Was The Perfect Queen But He Forgot My Name Chapter 37

With a flick of his wrist, he sent the papers flying toward me.

The force of his wolf stirred the air. Several sheets struck the sensor, and the door slid shut. The rest drifted down around us, not a single one touching my skin.

He stepped over the scattered pages of Julian’s name and came toward me.

I grabbed a stun device from the edge of the desk and pointed it at him.

“Who are you?”

He didn’t seem to care. He simply closed his hand around the metal end of the weapon. The current made his palm convulse, splitting open old wounds and sending blood dripping from his fingertips.

He seemed to feel no pain.

“Don’t point dangerous things at yourself.”

He took the stun device from me with ease and tossed it aside.

As I backed away, my heel caught on a soft chair, and I kicked out at him twice.

He was more fragile than I’d imagined. Coughing, he stumbled and fell to the floor. One of my heels flew off.

He caught my ankle.

I was about to kick again when he lifted his eyes—Julian’s eyes, yet entirely different.

“Rowan.”

I froze.

With bloodied fingertips, he traced a rough R across the arch of my foot. The motion was almost reverent, yet so dangerous it sent a chill through me.

“Genevieve, remember.”

“My name is Rowan Fraser.”

At last, he let go.

I retreated to the far side of the room at once.

Rowan sat there in silence amid the scattered pages.

Only the sheet closest to him had been marked with blood, a single, stark R.
