Three Years For His Fiancée Chapter 08
Julian knelt stiffly in the middle of the hall, right in front of everyone.
A flicker of embarrassment crossed Kimberly’s face, but she quickly stepped forward, clinging to Edward and pouting playfully. “It’s your birthday, Sir Reegan. Why are you so worked up?
“At the end of the day, Julian’s your chosen heir. Why don’t we let him get up first?”
Before she could finish, he swung his cane at her too. “You should kneel as well!”
The butler waved his hand, and the servants stepped forward, forcing Kimberly onto her knees.
“I’ve said it before—I don’t care how the two of you behave!
“But now, you’ve provoked powerful overseas financiers to attack us!
“Do you even know that all the overseas companies of the Reegan and Ashton families have been shorted by them?!”
Hearing Edward’s words, the living room fell silent before quickly erupting into chaos.
“Grandpa, our company’s market value has dropped over 150 million dollars!”
Someone screamed and slapped Kimberly across the face.
“Look at the mess you’ve caused!”
“Come on, who doesn’t cheat? Why can’t you act like a real wife and be gracious enough to overlook it?”
Kimberly’s face was struck hard, and it began swelling in an instant.
She spat out a mouthful of blood and glared at the woman scolding her. “Who do you think you are, daring to lecture me?
“I’ll admit I made a mistake—my only mistake was not finishing Athena off!”
The Reegan family was shocked by Kimberly’s ruthlessness.
Even Julian looked at her in disbelief. “Were you the one behind Athena’s death?”
Kimberly sneered. “She’s not even dead, is she? Don’t act like I did something wrong.
“Julian, your family has no right to blame me for this!”
The banquet was completely ruined by Julian and Kimberly.
They parted on bad terms, and the next day, news of their divorce dispute was trending everywhere.
I heard about this amusing news while abroad.
“Stripes, don’t tell me you were behind this.”
Finneas shrugged, putting his hands up. “I just gave them a little push from behind. You could say I simply sped up the downfall of the Reegan and Ashton families.”
As he spoke, he looked me over. “This one’s nice—it suits you.”
I looked at the red dress I was wearing, feeling rather speechless.
“Are you really sure I should dress this boldly at someone else’s party?”
Finneas stroked his chin and nodded. “Of course. You’ll be in the spotlight.”
It wasn’t until I saw Julian at the banquet that I truly understood what Finneas meant.
I pinched Finneas’ waist hard and hissed, “Finneas, your muscles are way too solid.”
Hooking my arm through his, I accepted a cocktail from a waiter.
Finneas grinned, showing his sharp canines. “Do you like them? I’ll let you see my abs when we get back.”
My face flushed instantly. “Get lost!”
Finneas was about to coax me, but when he saw Julian approaching, he shut his mouth.
“Nina…” Julian looked overjoyed. “I’ve finally found you.”
He fumbled with his phone and showed me photos of Anthony and Alexandra. “Look at them—they’re all grown up. The kids miss you a lot.”
Seeing how Julian was still hiding the truth from me, I found it ridiculous.
“Julian, how long are you going to keep it from me?”
I raised my glass and drank it in one go, only then finding the courage to meet his eyes.
Once upon a time, those deep eyes were what I loved most.
Thinking about it now, it felt like a lifetime ago.
“Tony and Lexie are your children with Kimberly, aren’t they?”
